I hosed my old Pleroma install. Don't ask how. Now running Akkoma or something. The internet told me to.

I am @MEisemann on another micro blogging website.

X-posted from Birdsite (see what I did hehe)

Just subscribed to Orion+ Lifetime, a browser from @KagiHQ

I believe in their mission and I hope that this is able to help fund some development in a meaningful way.

If not, I can still know that I'm supporting a worthy project!

Re: Infra migration. I couldn't figure out how to host my Matrix Docker Ansible thing and the rest of my websites on one VPS. There's something really weird going on with all the different proxy servers, so I just ate it and am going to be paying another $5 to Linode for the 2 public IPv4 addresses. Maybe I can get it down to one Linode with 2 IPs vs 2 linodes and 2 configurations...

there aint nothing like hard coding paths in your web apps and then deploying them at a different url. fml, just wasted like 90 minutes trying to figure stuff out. the good news is that i learned quite a bit about both gradle and maven, and just how ancient this jsp crap. but IT WORKS.

Fking hell.

Installing #Bluefin #Linux

@jorge 's enthusiasm for the project and really compelling video on an explanation of Cloud Native Linux (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ1LRe_foJY) that made me want to give it a shot.

Here goes!

So I bought a folding phone (OnePlus Open). I think I'm really bullish on the form factor, but I cannot /stand/ how bad the Android skin (OxygenOS) is. I've only really used a Pixel (6a) lately, so maybe I'm just used to good software. I'm just very glad I didn't pay the full price for the Open, maybe when the Pixel Fold 2 comes out, I'll get a good trade in for the Open.

One step closer to a semi-functional weechat relay client! Had to do some thunking about how the Hdata structure worked in Weechat, but my smol brain figured it out.

The front end is going to be uhhh... a lot harder based on my (minimal) understanding of the information the relay is returning.

Dang I started using Java 17 at work and I really do be enjoying it.

Going to re-write @pnutzh4x0r 's ratchet (jk ily) pastebin into Spring Boot after taking the Java pill.

Trying to decide if I should bother trying to maintain compatibility with the old pastebin, but realistically I only use it to share a quick file on IRC, so breaking things is w/e. I will however try to keep the actual API design the same since I've got probably so much crap hooked into it that changing it would break like everything.

thanks for reading.

@ndlug President Anna Klempay published a paper on the :

"Dark Web Marketplaces: Data for Collaborative Threat Intelligence"

https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3615666

The work in this paper was started by former @ndlug president @me

I'm so proud of both of them!!!

New idea for a project, and I spent a few hours working on it last night. Didn't get as far as I would have liked trying to work with both Supabase and Firebase (imbadlol). Maybe I'll roll my own backend, but I still want to be able to support Social (Google, Apple, etc) login. I can probably (?) still achieve this, I just have to learn a lot more.

Fun!

Couldn't go to bed until I got the full test message working, and I did blobcatcool

Now I just need to *majorly* clean up the code that does this parsing, and then actually start parsing the event messages and then write up the delegate class I've got planned in my head that the front end will then listen to or something and react to events based on what WeeChatKit is emitting. I've got no clue how to structure something like this on a scale that is efficient and does not suck.

Good night Toothole :*

Ok -- finished all other work I had to do for today (grad school + yard word), time to sit down and program on WeeChatKit (WeeChat Relay library for Apple things), for at least a couple of hours.

Hopefully I can spend more time on it tomorrow. win3_control_panel

Anyone else find themselves stuck in the madness of wondering if their timeline is broken because it's not constantly being bombarded with new content? It feels /wrong/ because I've spent more time on other social media platforms that try to cram everything they can down your throat.

Perhaps I'm also not following enough people. Anywho, just a thought.
